Daintree Aboriginal Cultural Experience

Experience local indigenous Aborigine culture at the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park, Australia’s largest Indigenous cultural park. The Cultural Park has been built on traditional Tjapukai land in a beautiful rainforest setting to highlight the environment enjoyed by the Indigenous people of the Cairns Wet Tropics rainforest.

Visits can be booked for the day or night performances. Day trips can incorporate a ride on the Kuranda Scenic Railway, and the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway.

Tjapukai by Day is a celebration of the living history of the Indigenous people of the rainforest. Learn to play the didgeridoo, discover the medicinal values of bush tucker, throw a spear and enjoy professional theatre incorporating traditional Aboriginal dance, fire making and storytelling. New to Tjapukai is a genuine cultural and visual Australian journey featuring the didgeridoo plus an expansion of the Cultural Village’s program to include hunting demonstrations. The Boomerang Restaurant serves morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea and the Retail Gallery has authentic Aboriginal art, boomerangs, didgeridoos and artifacts.

Tjapukai by Night takes you on a magical adventure discovering the legends of Australia’s Dreamtime. The people of the rainforest share their culture during an evening of spectacular entertainment where you join a traditional Tjapukai corroboree. The performance includes a didgeridoo blessing ceremony, Quinkan spirit performance and a spectacular fire-making display. A sumptuous buffet dinner and professional entertainment with Tjapukai’s award-winning live cultural performance follow. Afterwards, join the dancers around the campfire.
