This was the first time we had been to Port Douglas and were looking for a mid-priced, 2 bed apartment near the centre of the town, as we did not have a car for the first week or our 10 night stay.

We did some pretty detailed research on-line and also looked at the reviews of several places before deciding that the Central Plaza looked comfortable, affordable and close to restaurants and shops as well as being well reviewed.

We found Fiona and Ian to be very helpful and knowledgeable managers who went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble and they were always happy to give advice on tours, local attractions and services. They were happy to book tours for us and their local knowledge added to the ease of our stay.

The 2 bedroom apartment we had was clean and comfortable and had all the essential kitchen and laundry facilities. The beds were good, the bathrooms very big and the living area adequate for 2 adults and 2 children 10 and 13.

The air conditioning worked well, the pool was great as were the BBQ facilities. The bedrooms were quiet and the apartments seemed well maintained.

The second bedroom was a bit small and there was not much room to move when the suitcases were opened. It was fine for two smaller children but would be a bit of a squeeze for two teenagers or adults. The main living area was quite dark and we had to keep the lights on during the day, however as we spent little time there during the day, it was not a major problem.

We highly recommend the apartments to families on a moderate budget and couples looking for a friendly and relaxed place to stay.

My husband, myself and my daughter’s family stayed at Central Plaza in April of this year.
The hotel was very clean with excellent facilities, great swimming pool and we spent many evening meals around the huge bbq area. The owner’s went out of their way in helping us organise our return coach trip and we couldn’t ask for better hosts. This hotel is great for family’s because of the size of the rooms, and with it being only a 5 minute walk to the beach. I would recommend this hotel to all travellers.

We stayed in a 3 bedroom studio apt early may 2010, we found that Iain and Fiona friendly and helpful and perfect hosts.
The rooms were large for the 2 couples and plenty of spare space.
The apt had everything that we needed for daily living and the pool/bbq area was outstanding.

We settled on Central Plaza having looked at quite a lot of accommodation in Port Douglas, we had a two bedroomed apartment for 7 days and we wish we had stayed longer. The accommodation is in one of the best locations in Port Douglas being just a 10 mins stroll into the heart of the town where all the shops and restaurants are located yet it is far enough away to be quiet.
The apartment was very well appointed with everything we could need, a balcony with tables and chairs and proper furniture leather suites in the lounge area and another table and 6 chairs. Great bedrooms and bathrooms and loved the spa bath.
There is a bbq with all accessories in the pool area. Iain and Fiona the owner/managers were brilliant they provided us with some great advice when thinking about which trips to do and took all the hassle out by booking them for us. We would definately visit Central Plaza for Port Douglas Accommodation if we ever get up to Port Douglas again.
