“Plaza Port Douglas…..Its very difficult not to fall in love with a resort that becomes a home away from home, spacious apartments that are well appointed. We enjoyed the spa, the amazing swimming pool and the immaculately kept tropical gardens and bbq area. Iain and Fiona are wonderful hosts and nothing is too much trouble for these two. We loved apartment 17, we loved the spaciousness, the fully equipped kitchen , 2 bathrooms, especially the one with the spa bath….Spoilt.  Cannot wait to go back  to Cental Plaza, we really miss it.”

The managers are just incredible and when my husband lost his wedding ring in the pool they searched the pool, found the ring and sent it by courier to our next destination….fantastic.”

“Port Douglas Accommodation, there is a lot of choice but we booked Central Plaza and were glad we did. We loved our 2 bedroom apartment, it was spacious with large lounge, kitchen and dining areas as well as a balcony. The resort is conveniently located with only a short 3 minute walk to beautiful 4 Mile Beach and Macrosson St, the main shopping area of Port Douglas. We  loved the pool are bbq areas…they were great”

“We have just returned from 4 days in Port Douglas staying at Central Plaza….we were not disappointed.  Central Plaza was easy to find and conveniently located being close to both 4 Mile Beach and the main shopping strip of Port Douglas. The landscaped grounds we beautiful with a great pool and reception area. The apartments are spacious with fully equipped kitchen.  We found Iain and Fiona to be fantastic hosts and very helpful in booking tours and providing local knowledge. “Central Plaza…..fantastic the second time around, we have just returned from our second visit to Central Plaza and thorougly enjoyed it.  We love the central position, just a short walk to the beach and the local shops.  The pool area is fantastic and there is nothing better than just relaxing by the pool with a good book….it felt like my own private space as I was often the only one there.  The communal bbq area is a great idea and we utilised it almost nightly. We highly recommend Central Plaza, thanks Iain and Fiona for another great stay and we will be back again.”

“Iain and Fiona, thank you, you go above and beyond to help out any way you can.  You really helped us when due to cyclones our dive expedition was cancelled by trying to get us onto another trip and then suggesting alternative activities.  We loved Port Douglas and wished we could have stayed longer. Central Plaza is conveniently located, 5 minutes to the ‘main drag’ and 10 minutes to the marina.

We found our apartment at Central Plaza to be well appointed, spacious with a nice patio and outdoor setting. The pool was nice with plenty of shade and deck chairs to laze on. The communal bbq was a great idea…will be using that next time we visit. I absolutely recommend Plaza Port Douglas, say hi to Iain and Fiona for me.”

“We were extremely happy with our Port Douglas accommodation and found Central Plaza just that, close to everything, only 5 minute walk to Macrossan St and not much more to the beachfront.  Our apartment was well equipped and we appreciated the supplies that were provided (laundry powder, soap, toilet rolls etc) and loved the leafy outlook from our balcony. We would certainly recommend Central Plaza and found that during the tourist season we appreciated our quiet holiday away from busy Macrossan St.”

We did some pretty detailed research on-line and also looked at the reviews of several places before deciding that the Central Plaza looked comfortable, affordable and close to restaurants and shops as well as being well reviewed.

We found Fiona and Ian to be very helpful and knowledgeable managers who went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble and they were always happy to give advice on tours, local attractions and services. They were happy to book tours for us and their local knowledge added to the ease of our stay.

The 2 bedroom apartment we had was clean and comfortable and had all the essential kitchen and laundry facilities. The beds were good, the bathrooms very big and the living area adequate for 2 adults and 2 children 10 and 13.

The air conditioning worked well, the pool was great as were the BBQ facilities. The bedrooms were quiet and the apartments seemed well maintained.

The second bedroom was a bit small and there was not much room to move when the suitcases were opened. It was fine for two smaller children but would be a bit of a squeeze for two teenagers or adults. The main living area was quite dark and we had to keep the lights on during the day, however as we spent little time there during the day, it was not a major problem.

We highly recommend the apartments to families on a moderate budget and couples looking for a friendly and relaxed place to stay.

The Port Douglas carnivale was in full swing and the weather was just perfect. We especially loved all the help that Ian and Fiona gave us to ensure that we did not miss any of the festivities. The Seafood extravaganza on Marina Mirage wharf was the best with the live band playing on the back of one of the boats and the food and beer and wine keep flowing.

The huge swimming pool in Central Plaza is looking great with the new furniture and BBQ – I can see why the guests all love spending the nights congregating around it – the temperature was just perfect and was a lovely way to spend the evenings after exploring Port Douglas and the reef during the day.
